BBQ Sundays are Back at Eagle Leather
Starting this Sunday for the Rest of Summer!

BBQ Sundays at Eagle Leather are back! Ride in and grab a frank fresh off the grill. No need to bring anything but your bike and an appetite… and here at Eagle Leather, we know how to cook’em right!

Hot dogs are as American as motorcycles and Coca-Cola. They can be eaten boiled, steamed, poached, baked, or even raw – but nothing beats one fresh off the grill! Use the below grilling tips to cook the best grilled franks, every time.

Once the grill is searing hot, grab your tongs and place the dogs on the grill perpendicular to the grate. This will give the dogs nice grill lines and enhance their flavor. Spacing is key here – you’re going to need room to roll them back and forth to ensure even cooking. We recommend rolling every 1-2 minutes, depending on how hot your grill gets.

Have patience – removing your dogs too early won’t hurt you, but you won’t get the best flavor out of them either. Wait until they all have dark brown – black grill lines. What you are looking for is called the Maillard Reaction – which is what gives grilled foods their great flavor.

Keeping with the Maillard Reaction theme, make sure to toast the hot dog buns. That’s what give toast that great flavor… way better than plain ol’ bread! To avoid burning the buns, shift your charcoal to one side of the grill and place the buns on the opposite side of the grate. When they start to brown, rotate them 90 degrees for an additional 30 seconds or so.

Now all that’s left to do is combine your perfectly cooked dog with your perfectly browned bun and add your favorite toppings!
